Storage is an integral part of any modern deployment platform. It's not an easy endeavor, but is very rewarding in the end!
We had already implemented some storage mechanisms in order to support hosted databases, but that was completely transparent and inaccessible to our users. Well... For services it still is 😅 BUT but! We implemented filesystem volumes management and mounting to apps! 🎉🥳 Not only that, we went one step ahead and added an in-fridaybuilds file browser so you can easily list/upload/download the volume files without having to go throught an SFTP client (WHICH YOU CAN ALSO DO BTW!).
Services got an important update as well: ✋🌈 BACKUPS 🌈🤚
You can schedule backups to be exported into fridaybuilds storage (separate from your volumes) or in external S3 compatible services. You can also export manually or import data from existing dump file/remote urls/previous exports.
Now your apps and services have persistent and reliable storage on fridaybuilds, so you (well... your agent ðŸ¤) can keep working on your projects, not on storage integrations. If storage integrations are your thing though, we don't judge; we are actually bringing S3 buckets natively on fridaybuilds soon!
